Cincinnati squeaks by Peoria, 4-2

The game between the Cincinnati Swords and the Peoria Mustangs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Cincinnati emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Haase secured the win for the Swords with a goal in the third period.

Cincinnati was paced by Haase, who registered one goal and one assist. Haase scored on the power play 10:01 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Cincinnati. The Swords earned a power play opportunity when Austin Wisely was put in the box for hooking. Braden Smith assisted on the tally.

Cincinnati also got a goal from Ian Rolfsen as well. More assists for Cincinnati came via Matt St. Martin, Andy Metzler, and Emil Sundstrom, who contributed one a piece.

Peoria did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Mustangs average 6.0 goals per game.

Peoria was helped by Brendan Murphy, who grabbed one goal. Murphy scored on the power play 17:29 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Mustangs had gained a power play chance when Sundstrom was whistled for slashing. Sam Turner picked up the assist. Peoria also got points from Turner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Peoria received assists from Austin Ziakas, who had one.

Artie Haase made 21 saves for Cincinnati on 23 shots. The Swords incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Chance Kremer rejected 24 shots on goal for Peoria. The Mustangs totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
