Horvath stymies Cleveland, Toledo wins 2-1

Clay Horvath stood on his head and made 27 saves to lead the Toledo Cherokee to a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks.

Toledo pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Cherokee were sparked by Tyler Zalecki, who grabbed one goal. Zalecki scored 12:21 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Toledo. Brett Podgorski provided the assist.

Toledo additionally got points from Podgorski, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Toledo came via Noah Szenderski, Austin Turner, and Brody Duncan, who contributed one a piece.

Cleveland was led by Tyler Stockwell, who scored the team's only goal. Stockwell scored on the power play 14:35 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. The Jr. Lumberjacks earned a power play opportunity when David Bogart was put in the box for interference. Jared Johnson assisted on the tally.

Toledo registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Joseph Moza made 27 saves for Cleveland on 29 shots. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
