The North Iowa Bulls were firing on all cylinders against the Breezy Point North Stars, and when the final buzzer sounded Bulls emerged with a 9-1 win.

North Iowa got the win with help from a great game by Timothy Santopoalo, who had two goals and two assists. Santopoalo scored the first of his two goals at 14:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Matt Kroska assisted on the tally. Santopoalo's next tally made the score 7-0 North Iowa with 6:56 left in the second period. Kroska picked up the assist.

The Bulls' Chris Amsden was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Amsden will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

North Iowa forced North Stars' goalies to work without much rest, ripping 67 shots and forcing 58 saves. Joey Bergquist made 41 stops and Troy Pierce made 17. The Bulls' goal total was higher than their season average. North Iowa averages 6.0 goals per game.

North Iowa additionally got points from Chris Howard, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Richie Marenis, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Conor Jonasson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Dylan Zins, who also registered one goal and one assist. North Iowa also got a goal from Ryan Sete as well. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Austin Jackson, who had three and Sam Naegele and Nick Eytcheson, who each chipped in one.

Crosby Steen also scored for Breezy Point. More assists for Breezy Point came via Kyle Whipple and Ludvig Adamsen, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulls totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. North Iowa ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sete was ejected from the game. Breezy Point totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
