Arms leads Michigan over Battle Creek, 4-1

The Michigan Mountain Cats' John Arms had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 4-1 win over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Arms scored on the power play at 1:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Michigan and again while 19:49 into the second to make the score 3-1 Michigan.

Battle Creek was stymied by Michigan netminder Kevin OShea, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. OShea managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.0 prior to the game.

The Mountain Cats pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 23 penalty minutes.

Michigan stifled the Revolution's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mountain Cats forced Battle Creek goalie Zach Kooi to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Michigan also got a goal from Christopher Williams as well. More assists for Michigan came via Austin Buchholz, who had two and Jacob Gleason, Kade Morrison, Shawn Cornock, Jeremy Cugliari, and Abram Prince, who contributed one a piece.

The Revolution were led by Michael Schmitt, who scored the team's only goal. Schmitt scored 10:02 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Eric Stewart picked up the assist.

Michigan registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Kooi rejected 38 shots on goal for Battle Creek. The Revolution totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play.
