Texas rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-4 win over Wichita Jr. Thunder. Texas never led in the game until netting the game winner. Texas trailed 3-0 after a goal by Wichita Jr. Thunder's Joel Gellvear at 1:53 in the second period. Texas knotted things up at 3-3 on a short handed goal by Miguel Caron at 18:13 in the second period. Texas netted the game winner on the power play at 1:37 in the third period on a goal by Caron. Sebastien Tremblay was all over the ice for Texas, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Tremblay scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:44 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wichita Jr. Thunder. Texas had gotten the advantage when Wichita Jr. Thunder's Travis Wilson was sent off for holding. Caron assisted on the tally. Tremblay's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Texas with 16:13 left in the third period. Texas found itself down a man on Austin Murray's high sticking. Eric Lewis picked up the assist. Texas kept Wichita Jr. Thunder's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jake Larson made 65 saves on 70 shots. Texas found itself short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. Texas also got points from Caron, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Chris Stovall, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jesse Foskey also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Keith Bendall and Jeremy Quinneville, who contributed one each. Wichita Jr. Thunder additionally got points from Felix Morin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Wichita Jr. Thunder also got a goal from Zachary Martin as well. In addition, Wichita Jr. Thunder received assists from Carter Suski, who had one and Alex Smith and Jack McClelland, who contributed two each. Ryan Mulka made nine saves before being replaced by Oliver Eklund, who took the win and made 14 saves. Texas registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Wichita Jr. Thunder incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
