Idaho Junior Steelheads survives Salt Lake City Moose comeback, wins 4-2Acord Ice Center Fri, Mar 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Salt Lake City Moose almost clawed its way back from a four-goal deficit, but Idaho Junior Steelheads managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end. Idaho Junior Steelheads led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Idaho Junior Steelheads' Bryan Hodges's scored at 6:22 in the second period to put Idaho Junior Steelheads up 4-0. Idaho Junior Steelheads pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. Idaho Junior Steelheads kept Salt Lake City Moose's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brad Robertson made 30 saves on 34 shots. Idaho Junior Steelheads was helped by Kyle Williams, who had one goal and one assist. Williams scored 11:48 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Idaho Junior Steelheads. Macky Power picked up the assist. Idaho Junior Steelheads also got points from Nick White, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Hodges, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Dak Dice also scored for Idaho Junior Steelheads. More assists for Idaho Junior Steelheads came via Parker Lewis, Victor Carlsson, and Francis Desforges, who each chipped in one. Salt Lake City Moose's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Idaho Junior Steelheads power plays. Salt Lake City Moose did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Salt Lake City Moose puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. Idaho Junior Steelheads was unable to stop Salt Lake City Moose from sending pucks towards the net, and Salt Lake City Moose eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Salt Lake City Moose was helped by Cole Corson, who finished with one goal. Corson scored 12:27 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads. Cody Rogala provided the assist. Salt Lake City Moose also got a goal from Dylan Canoy as well. In addition, Salt Lake City Moose received assists from Pat Dwyer, Martin Tolkner, and Tommy Breitfuss, who contributed one a piece. Danny Kowalski recorded 31 saves for Idaho Junior Steelheads. Salt Lake City Moose incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
