Behind a great game by Filip Winkler, who had two goals, xFresno Monsters defeated xOntario Avalanche, 6-2.

xFresno Monsters pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.

xFresno Monsters kept xOntario Avalanche's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Cepila made 40 saves on 46 shots.

xFresno Monsters also got points from Evan Ingram, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. xFresno Monsters also got a goal from Austin Browning as well. In addition, xFresno Monsters received assists from Michael Freeman, who had two and Gunnar Dircks, Mike Nolan, Cory Kachel, and Jerry Kaukinen, who each chipped in one.

xOntario Avalanche racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and two majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. xOntario Avalanche surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. xOntario Avalanche's offense operated below it season average. xOntario Avalanche averages 4.6 goals per game. xFresno Monsters' defense shut down xOntario Avalanche's forwards for much of the game, and xOntario Avalanche got off only 14 shots during the contest.

xOntario Avalanche was helped by Brett Norman, who finished with one goal. Norman scored on the power play 5:25 into the third period to make the score 4-2 xFresno Monsters. xOntario Avalanche had taken the advantage when xFresno Monsters' Ingram got sent off for tripping. Luke Rendino provided the assist. Lubomir Fetkovic also scored for xOntario Avalanche. Other players who recorded assists for xOntario Avalanche were Basil Reynolds, Antoine Maillard, and Carl Hallberg, who contributed one a piece.

xFresno Monsters' Kaukinen stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that he faced. xFresno Monsters registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. xOntario Avalanche registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. For xOntario Avalanche, Brad Lemelin was ejected from the game.
