xDallas Ice Jets survived a determined comeback attempt by xTexas on the way to a 5-4 win.

xDallas Ice Jets took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have xTexas storm back on a Eric Lewis goal 18:48 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

xDallas Ice Jets made xTexas' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Oliver Eklund made 20 stops and Ryan Mulka made 15. xDallas Ice Jets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow xTexas to score on any of its three power plays.

xDallas Ice Jets was led by Nick Felan, who tallied three goals. xDallas Ice Jets also had goals scored by Chris Schutz and Yannick Aube, who scored one goal each. In addition, xDallas Ice Jets received assists from Matthew Heim, Alex Criswell, and Alex Devillier, who each chipped in one and Bryan Siersma and Luke Simon, who contributed two a piece.

xTexas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six xDallas Ice Jets power plays.

xTexas was helped by Sebastien Tremblay, who registered one goal. Tremblay scored 15:46 into the first period to make the score 2-1 xTexas. Others who scored for xTexas included Austin Murray and Anatoly Uspenyev, who each put in one. More assists for xTexas came via Garrett Weitzel, Landyn Howze, Dalton Foster, and Chris Stovall, who each chipped in one.

John Groth recorded 15 saves for xDallas Ice Jets. xDallas Ice Jets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. xTexas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
