xMissoula Maulers squeaks by Southern Oregon Spartans, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, xMissoula Maulers escaped with a 5-3 victory over Southern Oregon Spartans.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Joey Sundgren's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Nikita Sheptytskyy was all over the ice for xMissoula Maulers, as he finished with two goals in the win. Sheptytskyy's tallies came on the power play at 4:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xMissoula Maulers and 18:51 into the first to make the score 2-2.

xMissoula Maulers' offense rang up 37 shots on Southern Oregon Spartans' net.

xMissoula Maulers additionally got points from Sundgren, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Corey Schafer, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, xMissoula Maulers received assists from Henrik Ekestahl, Jordan Wheatly, and Austin Azzinnaro, who each chipped in one and John Andersson and Erich Jaeger, who contributed two a piece.

Other players who recorded assists for Southern Oregon Spartans were Tyler Spencer, Arturs Buss, and Cy Jenson, who each chipped in one.
