xOgden Mustangs blows out Southern Oregon Spartans, 6-1

xOgden Mustangs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Southern Oregon Spartans.

xOgden Mustangs was led by goalie Tyler Fallica, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Fallica certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.33 entering the contest.

xOgden Mustangs was paced by George Babos, who finished with one goal. Babos scored 10:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 xOgden Mustangs. Charlie Reed picked up the assist.

xOgden Mustangs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Southern Oregon Spartans to score on any of its five power plays. xOgden Mustangs kept Southern Oregon Spartans' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Dvorak made 32 saves on 38 shots.

xOgden Mustangs additionally got points from Dusty Watt, who also had one goal and one assist and Seth Giles, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for xOgden Mustangs included Tyler Underwood, Craig Moore, and Martin Hallin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for xOgden Mustangs were Sean Haltam, who had three and David Clements, Sven Johnson, Jon Mencer, Simon Teodorsson, and Jimmy Peplinski, who each chipped in one.

Southern Oregon Spartans could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Southern Oregon Spartans puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. xOgden Mustangs was unable to stop Southern Oregon Spartans from sending pucks towards the net, and Southern Oregon Spartans eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Southern Oregon Spartans was led by Carl Edstrom, who scored the team's only goal. Edstrom scored 17:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 xOgden Mustangs. Tyler Lazarek provided the assist.

xOgden Mustangs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Southern Oregon Spartans incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
