Long Beach Bombers holds on for 4-2 win against xPhoenix Knights

Long Beach Bombers survived a determined comeback attempt by xPhoenix Knights on the way to a 4-2 win.

A goal by Johan Beatty put Long Beach Bombers up 4-1 in the second period, but xPhoenix Knights pulled to within two on Quinn Thibeault's tally 16:22 into the third period.

Martin Vachal was all over the ice for Long Beach Bombers, as he registered two goals in the win. Vachal's tallies came at 15:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Long Beach Bombers and on the power play 4:35 into the second to make the score 3-1 Long Beach Bombers.

Long Beach Bombers made xPhoenix Knights' netminders to work in net, finishing with 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. Luke Stripp made 22 stops and Alex Taylor made 15. Long Beach Bombers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Long Beach Bombers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Long Beach Bombers also got points from Beatty, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyler Forest also scored for Long Beach Bombers. In addition, Long Beach Bombers received assists from Konstantin Kotkov, Tomas Nemeth, Mikael Lengmo, and Filip Martinec, who contributed one a piece.
