Hallin leads xOgden Mustangs over Seattle Totems, 8-4

xOgden Mustangs' Martin Hallin had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 8-4 win over Seattle Totems.

Hallin scored on the power play at 8:55 into the second period to make the score 5-2 xOgden Mustangs and again while 17:03 into the second to make the score 7-4 xOgden Mustangs.

Seattle Totems' power play was ineffective against xOgden Mustangs' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The xOgden Mustangs penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 13 minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game xOgden Mustangs had been spending in the box. xOgden Mustangs forced Seattle Totems' goalies to work without much rest, totaling 62 shots and forcing 54 saves. Cody Stein made 36 stops and Eli Alyakin made 18. xOgden Mustangs surpassed its usual scoring output this season. xOgden Mustangs averages 5.7 goals per game. The defensemen of xOgden Mustangs were also effective in Seattle Totems' zone, and came away with two goals.

xOgden Mustangs also got points from Simon Teodorsson, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for xOgden Mustangs included Dusty Watt, who had two and Mike Kowicki, Cam Russell, and Justin Schebel, who each put in one. More assists for xOgden Mustangs came via David Clements, who had two, Sean Haltam, who had three, and George Babos, Craig Moore, Tommy Pokorney, and Tyler Fallica, who each chipped in one.

Seattle Totems racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and two majors for 66 minutes in penalty time. Seattle Totems had been averaging 26.0 minutes in penalties per game. Seattle Totems kept xOgden Mustangs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Fallica made 34 saves on 38 shots.

Seattle Totems was helped by Frank Flight, who registered three goals. Seattle Totems additionally got points from Nikolay Mamadzhanov, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, Seattle Totems received assists from Robin Bjoernstad, who had one and Lucas Walsh, who had four.

xOgden Mustangs registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities.
