Behind a great game by Tobias Sjolund, who had four goals, Texas defeated Wichita Jr. Thunder, 9-6. Sjolund got on the scoresheet 8:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:45 into the first, at 6:27 into the third, and at 19:35 into the third.Texas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 31 penalty minutes. Texas forced Wichita Jr. Thunder goalie Jake Larson to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Texas surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Texas has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Texas also got points from Landyn Howze, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Miguel Caron, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Sebastien Tremblay, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Seth Ensor also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Dalton Foster, who had two, Viktor Brask, who had three, and Jesse Foskey, Collin Young, and Ian Atencio, who each chipped in one. Wichita Jr. Thunder outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Wichita Jr. Thunder averages 2.2 goals per contest. Wichita Jr. Thunder was led by Carter Suski, who tallied two goals and two assists. Suski scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:23 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Texas. Ian Riley assisted on the tally. Suski's next tally on the power play made the score 8-6 Texas with 3:18 left in the third period. Wichita Jr. Thunder found itself down a man on Joel Gellvear's slashing. Wichita Jr. Thunder additionally got points from Gellvear, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Jack McClelland, who also registered one goal and one assist.
