Kresl nets hat trick, leads Salt Lake City Moose to 8-3 win over Seattle Totems

Seattle Totems could not stop Salt Lake City Moose's Adam Kresl, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-3 win.

Kresl got on the scoresheet 32 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 3:38 into the third and at 6:03 into the third.

Salt Lake City Moose made Seattle Totems' netminders to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots and forcing 38 saves. Eli Alyakin made 31 stops and Cody Stien made seven. Salt Lake City Moose excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Salt Lake City Moose outdid its season average for goals scored. Salt Lake City Moose averages 4.9 goals per game.

Salt Lake City Moose additionally got points from Pat Dwyer, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Dan Veselovsky, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Salt Lake City Moose included Jacob McMullen and Daniel Coley, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Salt Lake City Moose were David Barnes, Tyler Keturi, and Jurijs Moiseicenko, who each chipped in one and Alex Pommerville, Viktors Ponatovskis, Tommy Breitfuss, Brett Meyer, and Cole Corson, who contributed two a piece.

Seattle Totems struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 22 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. Seattle Totems' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Seattle Totems was helped by Marcus Triezenberg, who finished with one goal. Triezenberg scored 1:21 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Frank Flight assisted on the tally. Seattle Totems also had goals scored by Doug Stultz and Robin Bjoernstad, who scored one goal each. In addition, Seattle Totems received assists from Sergey Kuznetsov, who had one.

Ryan Gasparovic made 25 saves for Salt Lake City Moose on 28 shots. Salt Lake City Moose incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
