xPhoenix Knights' Cullum deadly on offense in 7-3 win against Arizona Redhawks

Jordan Cullum had two goals to lead xPhoenix Knights to a 7-3 victory over Arizona Redhawks.

Cullum scored at 4:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 xPhoenix Knights and again while 18:51 into the second to make the score 4-2 xPhoenix Knights.

xPhoenix Knights racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and five majors for 49 minutes in penalty time. xPhoenix Knights had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. xPhoenix Knights made Arizona Redhawks' goaltenders to work all game long, totaling 55 shots and forcing 48 saves. Colton Pankiw made 40 stops and David Deadman made eight. xPhoenix Knights excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The defensemen of xPhoenix Knights were also effective in Arizona Redhawks' zone, and came away with two goals.

xPhoenix Knights also got points from Charlie Allen, who also registered one goal and one assist, Tanner Branch, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ryan McNeely, who also had one goal and one assist. xPhoenix Knights also had goals scored by Robert Smith and Matt Gamblin, who each put in one. More assists for xPhoenix Knights came via Jordan Kaspick, who had one and Max Mahood, Brynton Macnab, and Kelby Minshull, who each chipped in two.

Arizona Redhawks was often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and five majors for 67 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Arizona Redhawks had been spending in the box. Arizona Redhawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow xPhoenix Knights to score on any of its seven power plays.
