Long Beach Bombers survives Valencia Flyers comeback, wins 5-4

Valencia Flyers almost clawed its way back from a four-goal deficit, but Long Beach Bombers managed to pull out a 5-4 win in the end.

Long Beach Bombers led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Long Beach Bombers' Tomas Nemeth's scored at 2:12 in the second period to put Long Beach Bombers up 4-0.

The Long Beach Bombers penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and three majors for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Long Beach Bombers had been spending in the box. Long Beach Bombers struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Valencia Flyers to score three power play goals on three chances.

Long Beach Bombers was helped by Valeriy Ledovskiy, who registered one goal. Ledovskiy scored 14:02 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Long Beach Bombers. Johan Beatty assisted on the tally. Long Beach Bombers also got points from Filip Martinec, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Blake Sundy also scored for Long Beach Bombers. Other players who recorded assists for Long Beach Bombers were Jack Kelly, who had two, Marcus Viitanen, who had three, and Mikyal Anas, Konstantin Kotkov, and Xavier Boissel-Dombreval, who each chipped in one.

Valencia Flyers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and two majors for 22 minutes in penalty time. Valencia Flyers had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Valencia Flyers was led by Austin Ehrlich, who had one goal and two assists. Ehrlich scored on the power play 18:37 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Long Beach Bombers. Valencia Flyers had gotten the advantage when Long Beach Bombers' Marcus Rhodin was sent off for cross checking. Jakob Kranabetter picked up the assist. Valencia Flyers also got a goal from Zach Paxman as well. In addition, Valencia Flyers received assists from Luc Whyte, who had one and Aharon Lara, who had two.

Talon Miller recorded 24 saves for Long Beach Bombers. Long Beach Bombers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Valencia Flyers' Luke Thompson stopped 23 shots out of the 28 that he faced.
