Fresno Monsters rolls over Seattle Totems, 6-1

Fresno Monsters had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Seattle Totems.

Evan Ingram had one goal and two assists to lead Fresno Monsters. Ingram scored 17:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fresno Monsters. Cory Kachel assisted on the tally.

Fresno Monsters made Seattle Totems' goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 70 shots and forcing 64 saves. Eli Alyakin made 37 stops and Cody Stein made 27. Fresno Monsters excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Fresno Monsters additionally got points from Filip Winkler, who also had one goal and one assist, Kachel, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Kyle Jelenski, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Fresno Monsters included Mike Fabie and Jacob Haynes, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Jordan Fontaine, Justin Plate, and Austin Browning, who contributed one a piece.

Seattle Totems put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fresno Monsters to score on any of its five power plays. Seattle Totems' offense was handcuffed by Fresno Monsters' defensive play, and Seattle Totems managed only 12 shots on goal during the game.

Seattle Totems was led by Sergey Kuznetsov, who scored the team's only goal. Kuznetsov scored 12:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fresno Monsters. Marcus Triezenberg provided the assist.

Matthew Soldano rejected 11 shots on goal for Fresno Monsters. Fresno Monsters incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Seattle Totems incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
