Andersson leads Cheyenne Stampede over Wichita Jr. Thunder, 7-2

Alexander Andersson was all over the ice for Cheyenne Stampede, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Cheyenne Stampede's 7-2 win over Wichita Jr. Thunder.

Andersson's tallies came at 19:26 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Cheyenne Stampede and on the power play 8:18 into the third to make the score 6-2 Cheyenne Stampede.

Cheyenne Stampede forced Wichita Jr. Thunder goalie Marco Medina to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Cheyenne Stampede outdid its season average for goals scored. Cheyenne Stampede has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Cheyenne Stampede also got points from Maans Gustavsson, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Thayne Trumbull, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cheyenne Stampede also got a goal from Russell Armbruster as well. In addition, Cheyenne Stampede received assists from Branko Oktavec, who had one and Heath Lantz, Tyler Elkins, Jimmie Kotilainen, and Jacob Eisenstat, who each chipped in two.

Wichita Jr. Thunder was helped by Jack McClelland, who tallied one goal. McClelland scored on the power play 7:36 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Cheyenne Stampede. Wichita Jr. Thunder earned a power play opportunity when Armbruster was put in the box for high sticking. John Crusinberry assisted on the tally. Felix Morin also scored for Wichita Jr. Thunder. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita Jr. Thunder were Joel Gellvear, who had one.

Sam Mallory recorded 21 saves for Cheyenne Stampede. Cheyenne Stampede incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Marco Medina made 52 saves for Wichita Jr. Thunder on 59 shots. Wichita Jr. Thunder incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
