Texas outlasts San Diego Gulls, 3-2NYTX Arena Sun, Jan 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Texas gutted out a close 3-2 win against San Diego Gulls. Texas gained the winning advantage on a goal by Miguel Caron 10:41 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Caron was all over the ice for Texas, as he registered two goals in the win. Texas' offense rang up 54 shots on San Diego Gulls' net. Texas also got points from Michael Brown, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Texas came via Austin Murray, who had two and Cody Letsinger and Collin Young, who contributed one a piece. San Diego Gulls was helped by Brian Prieboy, who tallied one goal. Prieboy scored 9:45 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Eric Baldwin picked up the assist. San Diego Gulls also got a goal from Drew DePalma as well. In addition, San Diego Gulls received assists from Michael Leone and Cam Brantz, who each chipped in one. Oliver Eklund recorded 24 saves for Texas. Texas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. San Diego Gulls' Eric Eidessen stopped 51 shots out of the 54 that he faced. San Diego Gulls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
