Decker leads Ogden Mustangs over Seattle Totems, 7-4

Behind a great game by Brody Decker, who had one goal and two assists, Ogden Mustangs defeated Seattle Totems, 7-4.

Decker beat Cody Stein with a shot 12:32 into the third period on the power play to make the score 4-4. Ogden Mustangs had gained a power play chance when Connor Smith was whistled for roughing. Cam Russell assisted on the tally. Decker dished an assist on Jimmy Peplinski's goal that made the score 3-1 Seattle Totems at 14:55 into the second period. He added another helper on Sean Haltam's goal that made the score 7-4 Ogden Mustangs at 15:34 into the third period.

Ogden Mustangs forced Seattle Totems goalie Stein to work between the pipes, taking 64 shots. Ogden Mustangs cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances.

Ogden Mustangs also got points from George Babos, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Dusty Watt, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Peplinski, who also had one goal and one assist, and Haltam, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ogden Mustangs also had goals scored by Seth Giles and Schuyler Seyfert, who each put in one. In addition, Ogden Mustangs received assists from Charlie Reed, who had one and David Clements, who had two.

Seattle Totems was led by Eric Danna, who finished with two goals. Danna scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:11 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Seattle Totems. Seattle Totems had gotten the advantage when Ogden Mustangs' Seyfert was sent off for high sticking. Nikolay Mamadzhanov picked up the assist. Danna's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Seattle Totems with 1:06 left in the first period. Mamadzhanov provided the assist. Seattle Totems additionally got points from Sergey Kuznetsov, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jacob Stonecipher also scored for Seattle Totems. More assists for Seattle Totems came via Brett Losey, Kasey Walker, Duncan Long, Trent Lloyd, and Marcus Triezenberg, who contributed one a piece.

Niall Quinn made 14 saves before being replaced by Tyler Fallica, who took the win and made 12 saves. Ogden Mustangs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cody Stein made 57 saves for Seattle Totems on 64 shots. Seattle Totems incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
