Valencia Flyers took the lead against Lake Tahoe Blue in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 5-3 victory.

Valencia Flyers pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

In a losing effort, Lake Tahoe Blue was sparked by Martin Vachal, who grabbed two goals. Vachal scored the first of his two goals at 4:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lake Tahoe Blue. Tim Ahlin provided the assist. Vachal's next tally made the score 4-3 Valencia Flyers with 8:26 left in the third period.

Valencia Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Valencia Flyers' offense rang up 31 shots on Lake Tahoe Blue's net.

Valencia Flyers was helped by Niklas Giers, who finished with one goal and one assist. Giers scored on the power play 1:23 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Valencia Flyers.
