Murray leads Texas over San Diego Gulls, 6-4

Austin Murray had two goals and three assists to lead Texas to a 6-4 victory over San Diego Gulls.

Murray's tallies came at 17:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Texas and 19:39 into the third to make the score 6-4 Texas.

San Diego Gulls' power play was ineffective against Texas' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Texas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Texas' offense rang up 42 shots on San Diego Gulls' net. Texas surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Texas has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Texas additionally got points from Miguel Caron, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Texas also had goals scored by Jimmy Anderson and Eric Lewis, who scored one goal each. More assists for Texas came via Collin Young, who had one and Keith Bendall and Colin Edwards, who each chipped in two.

San Diego Gulls kept Texas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Mulka made 40 saves on 44 shots.

San Diego Gulls was led by Will Parker, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Parker scored 41 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-4. Kyle Rimbach provided the assist. San Diego Gulls also got points from Eric Baldwin, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Rimbach, who also racked up one goal and one assist. San Diego Gulls also got a goal from Drew DePalma as well. In addition, San Diego Gulls received assists from Michael Leone, who had one and Drake Deberry, who had two.

Texas incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Brody Cavataio made 36 saves for San Diego Gulls on 41 shots. San Diego Gulls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
