El Paso Rhinos downs Phoenix Knights in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

El Paso Rhinos' Tom Bartel scored 1:16 into overtime to beat Phoenix Knights, 5-4 (OT).

Matthew Plesa was all over the ice for El Paso Rhinos, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Plesa scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kendal Craig assisted on the tally.

El Paso Rhinos excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. El Paso Rhinos' offense rang up 36 shots on Phoenix Knights' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

El Paso Rhinos also got points from Chad Cesarz, who also tallied one goal and one assist. El Paso Rhinos also had goals scored by Roman Konecny and Jack Strusz, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for El Paso Rhinos were David Nelson and Andrew Bradford, who contributed one a piece.

Phoenix Knights kept El Paso Rhinos' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Vay made 31 saves on 35 shots.

Phoenix Knights was helped by Kelby Minshull, who finished with one goal. Minshull scored 10:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Phoenix Knights. Phoenix Knights additionally got points from Robert Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Phoenix Knights included Braden Cooper and Jordan Cullum, who scored one goal each. In addition, Phoenix Knights received assists from Colin Bresnehan and Robert Crisci, who each chipped in one.

El Paso Rhinos incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Phoenix Knights' Alex Taylor stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Phoenix Knights incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
