Long Beach Bombers' Martinec deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Ontario Avalanche

Behind a great game by Filip Martinec, who had two goals, Long Beach Bombers defeated Ontario Avalanche, 3-1.

Martinec scored on the power play at 12:40 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Long Beach Bombers and again while 16:21 into the third to make the score 3-1 Long Beach Bombers.

 

Ontario Avalanche was stymied by Long Beach Bombers netminder Talon Miller, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Miller certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.08 entering the contest.

Long Beach Bombers also got a short handed goal from Johan Beatty his fourth of the seasonl. Other players who recorded assists for Long Beach Bombers were Tomas Nemeth, who had two and Marcus Viitanen and Chris Sudnicki, who contributed one a piece.

Ontario Avalanche's offense operated below it season average. Ontario Avalanche puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

Ontario Avalanche was led by Antoine Maillard, who scored the team's only goal. Maillard scored on the power play 9:04 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ontario Avalanche had gained a power play chance when Xavier Boissel-Dombreval was whistled for roughing. Luke Rendino assisted on the tally.

Long Beach Bombers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ontario Avalanche's Drake Koegel stopped 14 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Ontario Avalanche incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
