Williams leads Idaho Junior Steelheads over Missoula Maulers, 6-3

Idaho Junior Steelheads' Kyle Williams had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over Missoula Maulers.

Williams scored short handed 6:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Idaho Junior Steelheads. A kneeing call on Philip Wong put Idaho Junior Steelheads on the penalty kill. Anton Virtanen provided the assist. Williams dished an assist on Jan Blasko's goal that made the score 2-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads at 11:49 into the second period. He added another helper on Jesper Jensen's goal that made the score 3-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads at 16:07 into the second period.

Idaho Junior Steelheads' penalty kill excelled, as Idaho Junior Steelheads gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Idaho Junior Steelheads stifled Missoula Maulers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Idaho Junior Steelheads forced Missoula Maulers goalie Sebastian Gronborg to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Idaho Junior Steelheads could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Idaho Junior Steelheads additionally got points from Jensen, who also registered one goal and two assists and Blasko, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Idaho Junior Steelheads included Dak Dice, Randy Patzner, and Oskar Af Bjur, who each put in one. Idaho Junior Steelheads' Sean Healy stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Idaho Junior Steelheads registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities. Gronborg rejected 47 shots on goal for Missoula Maulers.
