Lake Tahoe Blue downs Ontario Avalanche in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

Lake Tahoe Blue pulled out a 7-6 (OT) overtime victory over Ontario Avalanche on a clutch goal by Mattia Bortolotto.

Lake Tahoe Blue nearly gave up a four-score lead. Lake Tahoe Blue made the score 5-1 on a short handed goal by Branislav Kost at 3:11 in the second period. Ontario Avalanche pulled to within 6-5 on a power play goal by Antoine Maillard at 10:48 in the third period.

Lake Tahoe Blue made Ontario Avalanche's netminders to work without much rest, ripping 41 shots and forcing 34 saves. Chris Skeates made 29 stops and Daniel Cepila made five. Lake Tahoe Blue's goal total was higher than its season average. Lake Tahoe Blue has scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Lake Tahoe Blue was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of nine man advantages. Lake Tahoe Blue's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Lake Tahoe Blue could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jakub Novotny made 53 saves for Lake Tahoe Blue on 59 shots. For Lake Tahoe Blue, DeVaughn was ejected from the game. Ontario Avalanche incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
