El Paso Rhinos rips Texas, 11-1

El Paso Rhinos had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-1 win over Texas.

Matthew Plesa was all over the ice for El Paso Rhinos, as he had two goals in the win. Plesa's tallies came at 5:15 into the first period to make the score 2-0 El Paso Rhinos and 5:55 into the second to make the score 4-0 El Paso Rhinos.

El Paso Rhinos made Texas' goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 44 shots and forcing 33 saves. Ryan Mulka made 12 stops and Domenic Contrino made 21. El Paso Rhinos put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Texas to score on any of its four power plays. El Paso Rhinos' goal total was higher than its season average. El Paso Rhinos averages 6.2 goals per game.

El Paso Rhinos additionally got points from Nick Plesa, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Dakota Beaulieu, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Andrew Bradford, who also racked up one goal and one assist. El Paso Rhinos' Isaak Tjaden stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. El Paso Rhinos incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Texas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Landyn Howze was ejected from the game.
