Long Beach Bombers tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Fresno Monsters would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Fresno Monsters made the score 4-1 on a goal by Mike Nolan at 3:36 in the third period, and Long Beach Bombers got as close as 4-3 when Johan Beatty scored 8:18 into the third period.

Nolan was all over the ice for Fresno Monsters, as he grabbed two goals in the win.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:34 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Fresno Monsters forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 14 minors and two majors for 68 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 29.0 minutes per game Fresno Monsters had been spending in the box. Long Beach Bombers was unable to stop Fresno Monsters from sending pucks towards the net, and Fresno Monsters eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Fresno Monsters also had goals scored by Thomas Peach and Cory Kachel, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Gunnar Dircks, who had two and Gunner White, Mark Shroyer, Anthony Pena, Kyle Jelenski, and Jerry Kaukinen, who contributed one a piece.

The Long Beach Bombers penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and two majors for 72 minutes in penalty time. Long Beach Bombers had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. Long Beach Bombers forced Fresno Monsters goalie Kaukinen to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Long Beach Bombers had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances.

Long Beach Bombers was helped by Marcus Rhodin, who tallied one goal. Rhodin scored 19:31 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Beatty picked up the assist. Fresno Monsters ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Filip Winkler was ejected from the game. Long Beach Bombers' Talon Miller stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Team's Blake Sundy and Martinec were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
