Cheyenne Stampede outlasts Arizona Redhawks, 5-4

Cheyenne Stampede and Arizona Redhawks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Cheyenne Stampede made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4.

Cheyenne Stampede gained the winning advantage on a goal by Patrik Kramarik 16:59 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Cheyenne Stampede pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 27 penalty minutes.

Cheyenne Stampede forced Arizona Redhawks goalie Colton Pankiw to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The defensemen of Cheyenne Stampede were also effective in Arizona Redhawks' zone, and came away with two goals.

Cheyenne Stampede also got points from Alexander Andersson, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jimmie Kotilainen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cheyenne Stampede included Michal Marousek and Branko Oktavec, who each put in one. In addition, Cheyenne Stampede received assists from Russell Armbruster, who had two and Heath Lantz, Ian Teal, and Braden Smith, who each chipped in one.

Arizona Redhawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cheyenne Stampede power plays.

Arizona Redhawks was led by Mitch Cobby, who grabbed two goals and two assists. Cobby scored the first of his two goals at 5:33 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Oscar Hagborg Olsson provided the assist. Cobby's next tally made the score 4-3 Arizona Redhawks with 10:16 left in the third period. Hagborg Olsson assisted on the tally. Arizona Redhawks additionally got points from Mattias Marten, who also had one goal and one assist. Arizona Redhawks also got a goal from Anton Melin as well. More assists for Arizona Redhawks came via Sebastian Viding, who had one.

Rasmus Hansson made 26 saves for Cheyenne Stampede on 30 shots. Cheyenne Stampede ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kotilainen was ejected from the game. Pankiw rejected 42 shots on goal for Arizona Redhawks. Arizona Redhawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
