Southern Oregon Spartans' penalty kill was superb, as Southern Oregon Spartans survived multiple penalties to beat Salt Lake City Moose, 5-2. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:40 into the first period. Twelve fighting penalties were dished out along with eight game misconducts. Southern Oregon Spartans forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and five majors for 91 minutes in penalty time. Southern Oregon Spartans surpassed its season average of 30.0 penalty minutes per game.
