Lake Tahoe Blue climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat San Diego Gulls, 5-4. Lake Tahoe Blue let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. Lake Tahoe Blue took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Branislav Kost at 1:10 in the first period. Lake Tahoe Blue went down 4-2 after San Diego Gulls' Felix Kronwall put the puck home at 18:34 in the first period. After tying things up at 4-4 on a goal by Martin Vachal at zero seconds in the third, Lake Tahoe Blue got the game-winner from Mark DeVaughn at 6:25 in the third period. DeVaughn and Kost provided the spark for Lake Tahoe Blue, combining for three goals and two assists. DeVaughn grabbed one goal and two assists and Kost also added two goals. Lake Tahoe Blue forced San Diego Gulls' netminders to work in net, firing 38 shots and forcing 33 saves. Brody Cavataio made 33 stops and Filip Lukac made zero. Lake Tahoe Blue got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Lake Tahoe Blue also got points from Vachal, who also registered one goal and one assist.
