Boulder Bison downs Cheyenne Stampede in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Chance Creger gave Boulder Bison a 6-5 (OT) victory over Cheyenne Stampede when he scored 43 seconds into the extra period.

Boulder Bison overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Boulder Bison was down 3-0 after a power play goal by Cheyenne Stampede's Filip Oravec at 19:13 in the first period. Boulder Bison tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Hunter Behrens at 16:22 in the third period.

Boulder Bison was sparked by Creger, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Boulder Bison kept Cheyenne Stampede's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rasmus Hansson made 27 saves on 33 shots. Boulder Bison could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Boulder Bison also got points from Kevin Behrens, who also registered one goal and one assist and Daniel Orsborn, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tanner West also scored for Boulder Bison. In addition, Boulder Bison received assists from Charles Joly, who had two and Matt Hefter, Sage Dugas, and Chad Lopez, who contributed one a piece.

Cheyenne Stampede forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Cheyenne Stampede surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Cheyenne Stampede's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Boulder Bison power plays. Boulder Bison was unable to stop Cheyenne Stampede from sending pucks towards the net, and Cheyenne Stampede eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Colin Champine recorded 41 saves for Boulder Bison. Cheyenne Stampede registered four goals on 10 power play opportunities.
