Texas survives Dallas Snipers comeback, wins 4-2PL US Fri, Nov 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Texas came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Dallas Snipers, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Texas led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Texas' Anatoly Uspenyev's scored at 14:10 in the third period to put Texas up 5-2. Miguel Caron had a great game for Texas, netting two goals. Caron's tallies came on the power play at 12:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas and 11:38 into the second to make the score 2-1 Texas. Texas' penalty kill excelled, as Texas gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Texas stifled Dallas Snipers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Texas kept Dallas Snipers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Aleksandrs Bebriss-Fedotovs made 31 saves on 35 shots. Texas additionally got points from Uspenyev, who also registered one goal and one assist and Nikita Salnikov, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Eric Lewis also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Jeremy Quinneville, Landyn Howze, and Tobias Sjolund, who each chipped in one. Dallas Snipers could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Dallas Snipers puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Dallas Snipers forced Texas goalie Ryan Mulka to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Dallas Snipers was helped by Zach Lawson, who had one goal. Lawson scored 9:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Alexander Yunonov provided the assist. Dallas Snipers also got points from Shane Bonds, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Dallas Snipers received assists from Emil Melin, who had one. Ryan Mulka made 41 saves for Texas on 43 shots. Texas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Dallas Snipers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
