Missoula Maulers downs Ogden Mustangs in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Missoula Maulers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Ogden Mustangs on a clutch goal by Erich Jaeger.

Ogden Mustangs was unable to stop Missoula Maulers from sending pucks towards the net, and Missoula Maulers eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Missoula Maulers found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. The defensemen of Missoula Maulers were also effective in Ogden Mustangs' zone, and came away with three goals.

Missoula Maulers also got a goal from Niko Pukkila as well. In addition, Missoula Maulers received assists from Billy Bigham, Anders Nord, Nikita Sheptytskyy, Joey Porco, Josh Ingram-Rehm, Mason Jones, and Austin Azzinnaro, who contributed one a piece.

Ogden Mustangs forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 14 minors and one major for 73 minutes in penalty time. Ogden Mustangs surpassed its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. Ogden Mustangs could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Ogden Mustangs averages 5.7 goals per game. Ogden Mustangs' offense rang up 39 shots on Missoula Maulers' net.

Ogden Mustangs was led by Jimmy Peplinski, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Peplinski scored on the power play 8:42 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Ogden Mustangs had gained a power play chance when Jaeger was whistled for head contact. David Clements provided the assist. Ogden Mustangs also got points from Dusty Watt, who also had one goal and one assist. Jon Mencer also scored for Ogden Mustangs.

Michael Mcdaniel recorded 36 saves for Missoula Maulers. Missoula Maulers registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities. Ogden Mustangs' Tyler Fallica stopped 34 shots out of the 38 that he faced.
