Fitzpatrick lifts Phoenix Knights over Colorado Eagles, 8-4

Behind a great game by Shane Fitzpatrick, who had two goals, Phoenix Knights defeated Colorado Eagles, 8-4.

Fitzpatrick's tallies came at 6:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Phoenix Knights and 7:53 into the second to make the score 3-1 Phoenix Knights.

Phoenix Knights made Colorado Eagles' goaltenders to work in net, firing 38 shots and forcing 30 saves. Quinn Wold made 17 stops and Tage Rustgi made 13. Phoenix Knights put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Colorado Eagles to score on any of its three power plays. Phoenix Knights found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Phoenix Knights averages 4.6 goals per game.

Phoenix Knights additionally got points from Robert Smith, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Ryan McNeely, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Phoenix Knights included Max Mahood, who had one and Braden Cooper, who had two. In addition, Phoenix Knights received assists from Charlie Allen, Colin Bresnehan, Tanner Branch, Brynton Macnab, Jordan Cullum, and Robert Crisci, who contributed one a piece and Trent Boschman and David Hornak, who each chipped in two.

Colorado Eagles excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Colorado Eagles was helped by Nick Davidson, who registered one goal. Davidson scored 10:26 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Phoenix Knights. Colorado Eagles also got a goal from Kyle Arenson as well. More assists for Colorado Eagles came via Tyler Duhadway, Josh Malone, and Nick Bucholtz, who contributed one a piece.

Phoenix Knights' Troy Anderson stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Phoenix Knights ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Colorado Eagles incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
