The xThorold Blackhawks could not stop the xCaledonia Corvairs' Connor Patton, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-1 win.

Patton got on the scoresheet 19:55 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:45 into the second and at 16:26 into the second.

xThorold trailed by one after the first period, but xCaledonia went into the second intermission with a 5-1 lead and never looked back.

The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three xThorold power plays. xCaledonia's offense rang up 35 shots on the Blackhawks' net.

xCaledonia also got points from Spencer Gourlay, who also registered one goal and two assists and Connor Murphy, who also had one goal and one assist. Scott Dorian also scored for xCaledonia. In addition, xCaledonia received assists from Ryan Blunt, Jeffrey Malott, and Matt Quilty, who contributed one a piece and Cody Brown and Kyler Nixon, who each chipped in two.

xThorold's offense operated below it season average. The Blackhawks average 4.3 goals per game.

xThorold was led by Joe Mitchell, who scored the team's only goal. Mitchell scored 18:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kevin Lavoie assisted on the tally.

Colin Furlong made 23 saves for the Corvairs on 24 shots. xCaledonia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Corvairs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cosimo Fontana was ejected from the game. Ian Shorthouse rejected 29 shots on goal for the Blackhawks. xThorold incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Blackhawks, Jason Abbott was ejected from the game.
