xLondon outlasts Lambton Shores, 4-3

The game between the xLondon Nationals and the Lambton Shores Predators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end xLondon emerged with a 4-3 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jeff Bauer's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Nationals were led by Bauer, who grabbed one goal. Bauer scored 9:56 into the third period to make the score 4-3 xLondon. Ryan Tuffin provided the assist.

xLondon forced Lambton Shores goalie Justin Fazio to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Nationals struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Others who scored for xLondon included Anthony Kotsovos, Kyle L Robinson, and Matt Wildman, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xLondon were Ryan Wells, Matt Doty, Austin Kemp, and Derek Todosichuk, who contributed one a piece.

The Predators' offense rang up 32 shots on xLondon's net.

Lambton Shores was helped by Colin Burns, who finished with one goal. Burns scored 16:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lambton Shores. Kyler Keating picked up the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Jay Ritchie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Kirk Dorman as well. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Nick Sproveiro, who had two and Bryan Boersma and Ryan Fraser, who each chipped in one.

Justin Tugwell recorded 29 saves for the Nationals. xLondon registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Justin Fazio made 36 saves for the Predators on 40 shots. Lambton Shores incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
