Rapid City gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Brampton Beast. Rapid City gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jesse Schultz 18:15 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Rapid City was paced by Schultz, who had one goal. Rapid City managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Rapid City wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. By firing 37 shots on goal, Rapid City exceeded the 26.4 shots it averages per game this year.
