Tulsa outlasts St. Charles, 4-2The Family Arena Sat, Mar 01, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Tulsa Oilers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the St. Charles Chill. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Blair Macaulay at 12:03 of the third period. Tulsa got the win behind a great game by Ryan Menei, who had two goals and one assist. Menei scored the first of his two goals at 9:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Charles. Ben Gordon provided the assist. Menei's next tally made the score 4-2 Tulsa with 6:03 left in the third period. An interference penalty on TJ Moor had put the Oilers on the power play. Gordon assisted on the tally. Tulsa's offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.6 shots per game it averages. Kyle Bochek also scored for Tulsa. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Adam Pleskach, who had one and Ryan Barlock, who had two. St. Charles' offense rang up 35 shots on the Oilers' net. The Chill were helped by Kyle OKane, who tallied one goal. OKane scored 5:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Charles. Travis Ouellette picked up the assist. St. Charles also got a goal from Martin Hlinka as well. In addition, St. Charles received assists from Michael MacIntyre and Jordan Fox, who contributed one a piece. Shane Madolora rejected 33 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Robert Moss recorded 32 saves for St. Charles. The Chill incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
