The Brampton Beast and the St. Charles Chill were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Brampton made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Michael MacIsaac at 8:16 of the third period. The Beast found themselves short handed often, totaling 19 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays. By firing 33 shots on goal, Brampton exceeded the 24.4 shots it averages per game this year. Brampton also got points from Andrew Fournier, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tylor Michel, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Brampton included Josh McQuade and Matt Caruana, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brampton came via Dan Milan and Greg Hogeboom, who contributed one each and Jason Pitton and Brett Smith, who each chipped in two. St. Charles put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.3 it averages per game. The Chill were led by Nicklas Lindberg, who had one goal and two assists. Lindberg scored 2:48 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Dan Weiss assisted on the tally. St. Charles also had goals scored by Sean Muncy and Martin Hlinka, who each put in one. In addition, St. Charles received assists from Travis Ouellette, who had one. Kristofer Westblom made 25 saves for the Beast on 28 shots. Brampton registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Linus Lundin rejected 28 shots on goal for St. Charles. The Chill ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
