Missouri downs Denver, 6-3

Evan Vossen registered two points to lead the Missouri Mavericks to a 6-3 victory over the Denver Cutthroats.

Missouri's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Denver power plays. The Mavericks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Missouri averages 3.7 goals per contest. By firing 34 shots on goal, the Mavericks exceeded the 27.3 shots they average per game this year.

Missouri additionally got points from Mathieu Gagnon, who also had one goal and one assist. Missouri also had goals scored by Mike Ramsay, who had two and Andrew Courtney and Colt King, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Trevor Kell, who had three and Anders Franzon, Eric Castonguay, Obi Aduba, Matt Stephenson, John-Scott Dickson, and Sebastien Thinel, who contributed one a piece.

Denver struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Missouri to score two power play goals on three chances. With 42 shots on target during the contest, the Cutthroats exceeded the 26.3 shots they average per game this year.

Denver was helped by Kyle Fletcher, who racked up one goal. Fletcher scored 13:45 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Missouri. Cam Reid picked up the assist. Others who scored for Denver included Troy Schwab and TJ Fox, who scored one goal each. More assists for Denver came via Lee Moffie, Sean Zimmerman, Jean-Philipp Chabot, AJ Gale, and Garett Bembridge, who each chipped in one.

Erno Suomalainen made 39 saves for the Mavericks on 42 shots. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cutthroats' Kent Patterson stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Denver incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
