Brampton boosted by Westblom's play in net, beats Arizona 2-1

Kristofer Westblom had a standout game with 46 saves, and the Brampton Beast beat the Arizona Sundogs 2-1.

Brampton was sparked by Tylor Michel, who had one goal. Michel scored 5:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brampton. Matt Caruana provided the assist.

The Beast put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Arizona to score on any of its three power plays.

Brampton also got points from Scotty Howes, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Jason Pitton as well.

The Sundogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brampton power plays. Brampton was unable to stop Arizona from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sundogs eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Arizona was led by David Rutherford, who scored the team's only goal. Rutherford scored 7:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Johan Ryd assisted on the tally.

The Beast ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Andrew Engelage recorded 24 saves for the Sundogs. Arizona ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
