Schultz leads Rapid City over Missouri, 7-3

Jesse Schultz had two goals and two assists to lead Rapid City to a 7-3 victory over the Missouri Mavericks.

Schultz scored at 16:47 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Rapid City and again while 4:22 into the third to make the score 5-3 Rapid City.

Rapid City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Missouri power plays. Rapid City found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Rapid City averages 3.6 goals per game. By firing 46 shots on goal, Rapid City exceeded the 30.7 shots it averages per game this year.

Rapid City also got points from Sean Erickson, who also registered one goal and three assists. Rapid City also had goals scored by Justin Faryna, who had two and Konrad Reeder and Eric Giosa, who scored one goal each. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Matthew Larke, who had two and Winston Day Chief, Brett Kostolansky, and Ryan Palmer, who contributed one a piece.

Missouri was helped by Colt King, who finished with one goal. King scored 12:54 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Rapid City. Andrew Courtney assisted on the tally. Missouri additionally got points from Courtney, who also registered one goal and one assist. Missouri also got a goal from Obi Aduba as well. More assists for Missouri came via Eric Castonguay, who had two and Anders Franzon, Trevor Kell, and Colten Hayes, who each chipped in one.

Keaton Hartigan rejected 22 shots on goal for Rapid City. Rapid City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Mavericks' starting goalie, Shane Owen, made 30 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Erno Suomalainen, who stopped nine shots. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
