In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Denver Cutthroats escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Tulsa Oilers.

Denver gained the winning advantage on a goal by Vincent Arseneau 3:56 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Arseneau had two goals to lead the Cutthroats to victory.

Tulsa's power play was ineffective against Denver's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Cutthroats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Tulsa power plays. Denver relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Arseneau, Garrett Bembridge and Troy Schwab took 13 of the team's 23 shots.

Denver additionally got points from TJ Fox, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Denver came via Steve Kaunisto and Jean-Philipp Chabot, who each chipped in one and Daniel Moriarty and Aaron MacKenzie, who contributed two a piece.

The Oilers' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to the Cutthroats' power play unit. The 38 shots that Tulsa put on net surpassed the Oilers' average of 29.2 shots per game this season.

Tulsa was helped by Michel Beausoleil, who registered one goal. Beausoleil scored 10:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa. Adam Pleskach assisted on the tally. Tulsa also got a goal from Macaulay Macaulay as well. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ryan Menei, Kyle Bochek, and Todd Robinson, who each chipped in one.

Denver's Kent Patterson stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Cutthroats incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Shane Madolora rejected 19 shots on goal for the Oilers. Tulsa incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
