The Missouri Mavericks and the Tulsa Oilers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Missouri made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Mike Ramsay's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Mavericks were paced by Colten Hayes, who finished with one goal. Hayes scored on the power play 9:03 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. Missouri earned a power play opportunity when B Macaulay was put in the box for too many men. Trevor Kell provided the assist.

The Mavericks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 47 shots on target during the contest, Missouri exceeded the 29.4 shots it averages per game this year.

Missouri additionally got points from Dave Pszenyczny, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Evan Vossen, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Shane Owen, who had one.

Tulsa relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Todd Robinson, Kyle Bochek and Ben Gordon took 18 of the team's 33 shots.

Tulsa also got points from Bochek, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Tulsa came via Michel Beausoleil, who had one.

The Mavericks' Owen stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Missouri incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Shane Madolora recorded 43 saves for the Oilers. Tulsa incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
