St. Charles boosted by Moss' play in net, beats Wichita 3-1

The St. Charles Chill relied on the sparkling performance of Robert Moss in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Wichita Thunder.

St. Charles was led by Ryan Berard, who tallied one goal. Berard scored 16:33 into the third period to make the score 2-1 St. Charles. Andrew Conboy assisted on the tally.

The Chill put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wichita to score on any of its four power plays. St. Charles' defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with eight shots between them.

St. Charles also got points from Jordan Fox, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Charles also got a goal from Nicklas Lindberg as well. More assists for St. Charles came via Steve Makway and David Strathman, who contributed one a piece.

The defense for the Thunder played an important role offensively, racking up 14 shots on goal. Wichita put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.4 it averages per game.

The Thunder were led by Jon Madden, who scored the team's only goal. Madden scored 12:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wichita. Nick McParland picked up the assist.

Robert Moss made 32 saves for the Chill on 33 shots. St. Charles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wichita's David Brown stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Thunder incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
