The Missouri Mavericks came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Tulsa Oilers, but did just enough to escape with a 4-3 victory.

Missouri led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Mavericks' Matt Stephenson's scored short handed at 9:41 in the first period to put Missouri up 3-0.

Stephenson had a great game for the Mavericks, netting two goals.

The defensemen of Missouri were also effective in Tulsa's zone, and came away with two goals.

Missouri additionally got points from Sebastien Thinel, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. John-Scott Dickson also scored for Missouri. More assists for Missouri came via Dave Pszenyczny, Eric Castonguay, Evan Vossen, Obi Aduba, and Andrew Courtney, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers stifled the Mavericks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Missouri ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Courtney was ejected from the game. The Oilers took out Ross MacKinnon after he had made seven saves and installed Shane Madolora in goal, where he finished with 17 saves and the loss. Tulsa totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Oilers, Kyle Bochek was ejected from the game.
