Cameron's hat trick boosts Arizona over Allen, 5-3

The Allen Americans could not stop the Arizona Sundogs' Bryan Cameron, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

Cameron got on the scoresheet 1:48 into the second period. He then added goals at 15:28 into the second and at 19:06 into the third.

Allen's power play was ineffective against Arizona's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Sundogs bested their season scoring average. Arizona has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign. The Sundogs' offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.9 shots per game they average.

Arizona additionally got points from Jason Morgan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Kevin Baker, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Arizona came via Matt McCready, Dion Campbell, Alex Tuckerman, and Ryan Gaucher, who each chipped in one and Jordan Clendenning and Paul McIlveen, who contributed two a piece.

The Americans relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Darryl Bootland, John Snowden and Spencer Asuchak took 16 of the team's 31 shots. Allen could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Allen also got points from Gregor Hanson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Allen received assists from Dallas Ehrhardt, Kale Kerbashian, and Alex Lavoie, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Engelage made 28 saves for Arizona on 31 shots. The Sundogs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Mark Guggenberger recorded 36 saves for the Americans.
