The Missouri Mavericks tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the St. Charles Chill held on for a 5-3 victory. A goal by Jordan Fox put St. Charles up 5-1 in the third period, but Missouri pulled to within two on Trevor Kell's tally 19:43 into the third period. The Mavericks' eight penalties came back to haunt them, as Missouri let up four goals while on the penalty kill. The Chill excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.
