Drew Fisher scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Tulsa Oilers picked up the extra point in a 3-2 (3-2 SO) win over the St. Charles Chill. The shootout featured 12 attempts between both teams. St. Charles' shootout goals were scored by Jordan Fox and Steve Makway. In addition to the clincher, Tulsa got shootout goals from Michel Beausoleil and Ben Gordon.The Chill's power play was ineffective against the Oilers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Tulsa forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and three majors for 41 minutes in penalty time. The Oilers had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. Tulsa's power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on 10 chances. The Oilers were helped by Todd Robinson, who had one goal. Robinson scored 15:32 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Craig Cescon provided the assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Adam Pleskach as well. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Nathan Lutz, Macaulay, and Brandon Coccimiglio, who contributed one a piece. St. Charles racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 27.0 minutes per game the Chill had been spending in the box. St. Charles stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Chill relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Phil Buschbacher, Kyle Kraemer and Anthony Perdicaro took 18 of the team's 35 shots. St. Charles was helped by Kyle OKane, who had one goal. OKane scored 18:41 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Buschbacher assisted on the tally. Makway also scored for St. Charles. Other players who recorded assists for St. Charles were Fox, who had one. Shane Madolora made 33 saves for the Oilers on 35 shots. Tulsa ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Cramer was ejected from the game. Robert Moss rejected 22 shots on goal for the Chill.
